Title: got new carb - had to remove evap (CA only?) system
Post by: lukasbasic on April 22, 2017, 07:37:48 PM
I figured it is easier to put a new 20usd carb in, then clean the old one. what I did not realize that new carb has no evap connector. this comes from the tank. btw, dumbest thing ever, I see first hand how stupid gov regulations make things more expensive (pretty sure scoot would be 50$ cheaper without this).
so I disconnected everything, and let the hoses hang freely, thing runs great. I suppose this won't cause any problems in terms of performance?

Shouldn't, the cannister is there to trap fuel vapors from venting to the air and when the bike is running it draws them into be burned.

IF one of the doodads is a backflash preventer, perhaps you might drill a hole in the airbox, stuff a tube in, and allow the intake to consume whatever vapors may be produced ???

it like, we really Should try to be green...
