MXU / No spark. Engine won't start.
« on: January 27, 2019, 01:31:38 PM »
Hi all,

Again the DT won't start. She cranks, fuel pump working but it won't start.

Lifted the bucket and pulled the plug out, tested it with the plug back in the cap, gounded on the engine, still no spark.

This plug has around 5500kms on it. This is not the first time a plug had failed at this low mileage.

Is this a product quality on the plugs or something else is prematurely killing it.

I am also hoping and assuming the coil, wires are in good order. I do not know how to check them if they are still good.

It's night now and all the stores are closed. First thing tomorrow I'll pop to the shop to get two new spark plugs. And hope I get the spark back so I can get to work (late).

And advise?

Thanks.

Here is the pic of the plug I pulled out. It is a NGK CR8E.

Looks cool, since they claimed its for the Downtown, wonder is those fender and brake brackets were also model specific.

You'll have to take it to a workshop for them to open it up.

Hello im new to this forum , i was wondering i bought a kymco 300i 2014 used it has 17k km on the clock ,I dont know how to describe the sound but there is a strange sound that comes randomly from the clutch area whenever I accelerate its like grinding metal or when you keep the sidestand on the floor and move with it , it comes and goes randomly , ive had the clutch pads, belt , rollers changed but the sound didnt go away.
You have to open it all up and have a lopk inside, check for signs of metal to metal contact.

Yrs. Book says 20,000kms. At that mileage my belt have signs of tiny cracks. I suppose it has to do with how 'hard' you ride.

My 2013 DT200. Now at 79,200kms.

Yesterday's work done:
New engine oil (5w-40 Liqui Moly Molygen full synthetic), gear oil (Redline 90w full synthetic), oil filter, main belt, rear brake pads (EBC Carbon Sco), clutch pack, clutch bell

After abit of grinding, the DT 300 clutch pack is mounted on my DT200. The bell is also on.

The difference between the smaller 135mm clutchpack against the larger is the smoothness. The larger pads and larger diameter has smoothened out the pickup from standstill. It no longer is grabby.
