Injector service
« on: September 13, 2023, 12:16:06 PM »
Found this outfit on facebook and sent a series of questions. The answers were they do single injectors for Kymco (and probably any other brand) and can actually repair injectors. Basic clean (no repair) is $25 USD. Turn around time is one day after receipt.

Karl, nice find..that sounds like a reasonable price ($25 for basic clean) and they offer a lot more services.

Here is more to round out the intro. Fuel side I get but maybe some of you can educate me on  'air side' as I have no clue!

Most decent size towns nowadays have fuel-injection service centers.  Injectors are cheap to clean, usually while you wait.

This might be for our humble "plastic" injectors, but when it comes to car/ diesel injectors, special equipment and knowledge is neccessary.
Certain injectors have to be dismantled and rebuilt under liquid (diesel etc) to function.

AFAIK, our scooter injectors are plastic & stainless port injectors with one bolt and an O-ring holding it onto the intake manifold, plus an electrical connector.  They look like a tiny shower-head.  They're not like diesel direct (cylinder head) injectors which are really complicated and expensive.  But I could be wrong - I've been wrong before!

Good grief - I hope not! The Kymco injector is just a little plastic fitting with a stainless nozzle!  It takes about 2 minutes to replace Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/KYMCO-MY-ROAD-700i-FUEL-INJECTOR-/143668016582

Ha! Come to think of it, I'd rather deal with 4 carbs than one computer-controlled fuel injector! The FI nozzle is OK, but the computerized other stuff driving the injector makes me nuts!
