Seeing other bike commuters at 5:00AM
« on: October 05, 2016, 10:20:34 AM »
Kind of rare around here...but I've been passed by 4 HD riders (by the sounds?) lately each early morning of late. Two of them seem surely headed for I-70, the other 2 seemingly aimed local to work.
Doubt any of them are up this early just goofing like Large Alice here.
Geez, sure would not want to be shooting down 70mph I-70 in the dark.
Maybe it feels differently on those big bikes?
Noticed all four have double head lights. Not all with helmets. And no, they're not waving at my little plastic scooter.... No worries. More than likely it is my giant yellow helmeted reflectiveness that is scaring them...

With such late sunrises...I am riding both ways in the dark. New bulb in the LIKE is some better...reminds me of my Dad's 1950's Cushman. Like a good Sears flashlight with a weak battery.  ! Keep speed at @ 30mph here in town. Burman's big twin running  lights required for out of town rides in the dark.

PS: The CareFlight chopper just passed over. Headed for I-70, as usual. A pair of them are based just north of me...always hate to seem them headed south to the interstate.
They stay too busy....

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
