Wonder how much your modifications and aggressive riding style may have contributed?

ouch
sure it can be fixed, new engine case , some gaskets a new set of bearings and a free weekend and you're back on the road
a good time to throw in a stroker crank
what im learning is working on scoots is pretty easy, its cheap and it takes a lot less time than cars

Sorry to hear about that nasty pothole. I got a surprise hitting a speed bump that wasn't there the day before and the shade of a tree had darkened it so I didn't see it until I was right there. Fortunately I was going about 15 mph so it just scared the crap out of me. I would call it a project bike and check on Ebay or Craigs list. The parts shouldn't be very high as they can't be in much demand. I didn't hear you say you got hurt ...So that is something to be very thankful for. Good luck with the project bike and in the mean time keep your eye out for another scoot!

the motor and the broken piece is off to a machine shope.Hopefully they can get it welded back together. If not its a parts bike. or look for new motor.

Wow thats sad to see. You must have been lucky to have walked away from it. I have never heard of such a fracture of such a main component. When i take my belt cover off to change the rollers etc there is an area of the cvt case that is darker in colour and looks like it has been welded in some way in the past. I know the history of the scoot before I got it and know for sure that this has never been done. I am now thinking if this area of the cvt case about half way along the case is a manufacturing flaw when the part was cast. Has anyone else got this suspect area along the bottom of the cvt casing?
I would be worried now about riding a 125 if the cvt case is so weak, imagine hitting the pothole at 60mph.
Last thing, can you sue the highways department for the repairs/new bike. After all it was their badly maintained road that caused your loss.
good luck with the rebuild.
