Bike was running fine last season. Now the bendix seams to not turn the flywheel. Any idea?

I too have a DC cdi. I went through many cdis and none worked. stick with the original factory model it cost me $80 but it works.

Super 8 / winding grinding

so
the bike was sitting all winter. started up fine no noise no trouble but the  first drive I heard a high winding/grinding noise that increase in pitch as I accelerated then suddenly pinged then it died. come to find out if also drained my battery. after charging the battery and attempting to start the bike there is a low tone grinding noise that I can also feel. asks the bike won't turn over. it's not the starter or bendex they were removed and tested.

update
the belt is fine. when I try to start the bike there is a heavy grinding sound. I took the starter out to test it and the starter spins fine. put it back in. same grinding noise. I'm suspecting bearings. but not 100%. any thoughts?

here's something else too. I can hear the grinding sound when I attempt to start the bike again too. so that is something new.

the winding nose came from the engine compartment  I believe it may have been the gear  box

Agility 50 / grinding noise

after fixing the carb I took it for a ride of course. half way down the road I heard a high winding nose then it went dead. won't start now similar to the battery being dead. only clicks. anyone know what I broke?

OK update although the line from the gas tank to carb is accessing fuel. there is no fuel in my carb bowl. hmm

after further inspection I took off the carb and sprayed starting fluid directly into the intake. it started! now I just gotta figure what part of fueling system did fail. I can see the carb is getting gas so the issue may be the components of the carb itself. hmmm

as suggested I tested the compression and I can clearly feel that there is compression. the carb is relatively new bought it last year. like I said it just died while riding. engine cranks but doesn't start. Idk
thanks for the help though

yup I would guess the idler screw. also since you changed the carb, double  check the  vacuum lines.
