Yeah I was getting crappy MPG and poor accel even with all my mods, I finally got help from an old fart at a gas station who pointed out " hey dude your rear tire is flat!" I hid my face in shame a I pumped it up in the parking lot. Yeah its really that stupid easy to overlook.

Yeah I fell for the yoshi trap too but it sure does look and sound nice and it does work well in concert with other A/F mods. Anyway I weigh 300 pounds and top out at 67 Ind. 58 MPH varified by GPS.

You can use a gy6 stator off of any scooterparts site, should fit perfectly.

I agree the 150 CC version is capable of much more speed but I think its body panels create alot of drag I can feel that the bike wants to go maybe five MPH faster but something holds it back.

Hey guys had the same problem after break in period was over around 800 miles the tank started taking on water like crazy. Every week it seemed like i had to drain my Carb and about 8 oz out of the tank as a water plug had settled in there some how. I finally figured out two reasons why, the secondary air box that has a vacuum line coming off the air box hose and which is also linked to the Carb breather can clog with gas or water in a shockingly short time ( less than a day). After I capped off the air hose connection the bike would only form a water plug after sitting over winter or if not ridden for a month or so. But I also figured out that the ethonal in my 93 octane atrracts water some HEET Addtve. Helps but it still gets water in the carb bowl is its not run during high humidity. The only true cure is garage storage which saddly I don't have that luxury.

OK I can understand the DOT regulation demanding bolt on blinkers, but what I don't get is why. The four horsemen ( Honda, kawi, Suzuki, and yama) are exempt from this law? I was looking at the Japanese models at sloans ans noticed that some have led tail/ turn signals that violate this law.  I smell import bias! And it smells like ethonal in my 93 octane!!!!

No that's a defective tire, the dealer should replace it for free.  It is almost impossible to get that type of damage from scraping a medium or speed bump. It slit like a rotted old dunlop on a bike that's been barned for twenty years. Anyway I use racing quality castrol gtx full synth 5w-50 some guys say synthetic oil is bad for gy6 engines but I've had two gy 6 bikes and never had a problem with them burning out or blowing up like one guy warned me about. It really sounds rediculous when you think about it.

Super 8 150 / Re: Tail/Brake Light??
« on: May 06, 2012, 03:44:47 AM »
Nah, guys its easier to unbolt the fuel tank and lift it out to get to the tail light especially if you have big hands, I recently added an led tail light to mine and messed with it to near insanity until I figured it out, it seemed stupid once i did but its way easier to get to it that way. I simply left my tank un bolted as it kinda locks itself in place when the seat bucket is replaced.

On the top of the vavle cover there is a steel pipe that wraps around to the exhaust port, that's a scooter version of an egr valve it dumps air from the Carb into the exhaust pipe to burn off smog, but it also klls proformance and causes back fires! It can be plugged with a 1/4 inch threaded bung screw from Lowes. Highly recommended if you have a straight or glass pack pipe.

If you really wanted to, you could put in a smaller jet (95) and crimp the exhaust pipe with a big c clamp to restrict flow, you might get 100 MPG but it would top out at 50. : /

You might wanna crack open the case (cvt) and check for mud and rocks. Oh and its a scooter not a jet ski...  ;)

I wired mine to my right head light and put led green led wedge bulbs in them for some pizzazz!
My bike gets mistaken for a crotch rocket all the time at night due to this and my loud yoshi pipe.

I've been riding with a yoshi pipe for over 3000 miles and its pretty much just a thunder box, you get almost no top end power unless you install a butt load of other HP parts. I would recommend readjusting your air fuel mixture a 1/8 turn out to insure your not to lean.

Headlight dimming is normal, machine gun blinker is not.  remove the dash panel the blinker circuit is inside I believe its a standard model available at most auto parts stores.
