Agility 50 / Re: Headlight issue
« on: November 16, 2017, 02:12:56 PM »
The battery had always been flat - so electric start wouldn't work, I never had a problem until the headlight bulb went, I just always used to kick start the bike.

They reckon that the battery was now so bad that it was overcharging and this was causing the bulb to blow straight away.

So they replaced the battery which solved the overcharging issue.

The carb was in need of a clean and tune up - but because the cost of a new carb and fitting is more or less the same as cleaning and tuning the old one they replaced it.  The removed the restrictor and changed the rollers and variator and this means the top speed is now approaching 50mph and the bogging down issue has been resolved.

Thanks for the info Karl

I ended up having to get the bike into the garage anyway as it was bogging down badly and really struggling on hills.

It turned out that it was overcharging so was blowing the bulbs - also had to have new battery, variator, carb and rollers!!

Running like a dream now!

Thanks for you assistance anyway!!  Appreciated!

Agility 50 / Headlight issue

Hi All

My headlight stopped working on main beam - I could flip the switch on the left hand side and get the FULL beam.  I took the bulb out and it was blown!
I replaced it with a new bulb and I still have the same issue?

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Agility 50 / Re: Engine Swap

Thanks Blue

I like the bike - shame if I had to scrap it if the engine is funked!

Can I just change the 50 for a 125 without any mods????

That would be awesome!  As the 50 does struggle a bit with the hills!!

Agility 50 / Engine Swap

Hi

Just wondering whether a GY6 engine will fit into an Agility 50 or whether much else needs to be changed.

The bottom bearing is going on my KG10SA engine I believe.

Any help appreciated.

Many thanks

Agility 50 / Cutting out at idle
« on: February 22, 2016, 01:18:11 PM »
Hi

Today on the wet ride into work everytime I stopped at a junction or traffic lights the engine would cut out.

I could restart it generally without an issue.

If I kept the throttle open when I stopped to the point at which it was just about to engage the clutch then it would be ok?!

I check the fuel and the oil levels.  About 1/2 tank of fuel and the oil is still in the hatched area of the dipstick (although it could do with a top up).

I noticed that there is a hose which is not attached though, it appears to come from under the seat somewhere and goes across the top of the crankcase cover, are there any hoses which should be not attached to anything?  Can post a photo if it helps?

Thanks Karl

Took it back to the garage who did the crankshaft.

The oil seal had allowed oil to get into the crankcase cover and had contaminated the belt and clutch.

Being sorted now!

Agility 50 / Slipping

Hi all

Got a 2012 Agility 50 and just had the crankshaft bearings replaced.

When riding now I get a slipping sensation occasionally.

Then today it was squealing and wouldnt pull away.

Does the back wheel turn when idling? Or should it be stationary?

Any help appreciated
