Very long production run!
« on: February 13, 2018, 12:24:27 PM »
Www.justgottascoot.com first reviewed the LIKE200I in August of 2010.  8yrs ago!
I was researching the initial production start of the LIKE200I ---and that is the earliest mention of it that I could find.
This scooter has had a very long production run!!....with no changes, except paint colors, that I am aware of -- save for perhaps a better batch of throttle position sensors around the 2012 models.

Most of us LIKE owners feel that KYMCO got it pretty much Right with this scooter!
Is 2018 the end of the line, I wonder?

Yes I'd have to say that the Like200i has filled the bill for me. I first saw the Like in Australian scooter sites a year before it was released here. I wanted a classically styled scooter with at least a 150cc engine and a manufacturer that had established dealers. The fact that it had EFI and disk brakes was a real plus. I have been able to do most of my own service and it continues to run like a top. Nice job Kymco! ;)

Kymco has been notorious for not letting its models mature which is marketing garble-speak for not refining each model to increase sales, remedy design shortcomings or general improvements before retiring the model. The Like has been really popular beyond other models!

My dealer, at least, will be offering both as new models. The 200i is still on USA website as a 2018 model. No reason to stop if its still selling. My dealer has sold plenty of the LIKE200I's....although I  rarely see them in my travels.
Will see how long this lasts.

Stig, Is the new 150 in the states at this time. Unfortunately I have no local dealer anymore to check such things?

Trout,
Spoke to my dealer again today, asking about the new LIKE150i ....he said they "have not ordered any Kymcos for this season"
Best bet is for me to get on the dealer floor ....and find the 'scooter guy'. (owner's son who sold me my LIKE200i  and Forza)

Ah me.....
