Efi 500 stalling at idle
« on: December 22, 2017, 04:11:44 PM »
Since I got the scoot back from the workshop after the engine rebuild, it cuts out at idle.
It especially does it more when cold, and when coasting to a stop when cold.
At normal temp it is still there, but not so bad.
Plus most if the time  there is a little hesitation when accelerating from low revs.
So, now i have to keep the revs up at the robots /stop streets, as it should be 1200 but takes to 800 and cuts out.
If i rev a bit it sometimes sits at 1000-1200,then it won't cut out.

I am thinking extra air air in the system.

Check voltage at idle.

A small vacuum leak is what I suspect too. That’s especially likely given the fact that the problem only occurred after extensive engine work which required the air induction system to be removed.
I’d take it back to the folk who did the engine rebuild and let them know that it wasn’t doing that before.

Also, there’s a possibility of a faulty idle speed controller. I’m basing my guess on general knowledge of fuel injection systems rather than specific knowledge of Kymco’s in particular. Any specific kymco knowledge is likely more reliable than my general knowledge.
