« on: July 10, 2016, 05:46:15 PM »
I disconnected the + battery terminal and ECU to mig weld the new exhaust header. After reconnecting the battery and ECU the clock will not come on

Sorry to say the magnetic field around the welding leads is pretty intense. That's why the experienced welders and welding schools recommend removing anything electronic before welding. I think your ecu and clock are DOA.

Karl,
Looks like only the clock stopped working as every thing else are functioning ok.
If anyone out there knows what controls the clock please let me know.
It's not a big deal but nice convenience to have

Good to hear since ECU's are pricey! Does the clock have its own battery?

I believe the clock has its own battery. Have to access it in the back of the display panel. The batt is an LR43. First try pushing down on both of the buttons at the same time with keys or something that will push it down more than your finger would.

Check the fuses in the battery box. I thought I had fried mine when messing with the battery but just found a bad fuse and replaced it with a spare from the box and viola, fixed.

I just decided to try the kick start and the clock started working again. Maybe it needed additional voltage to get it started
