Hello ronigi. Welcome to the greatest Kymco forum on the planet. Beautiful bike. I love candy blue. I had an Xciting 250 and it was a great bike. I am currently the proud ower of a Downtown 300i. Kymco makes quality bikes. As far as run-in is concerned, just follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's guide and you will be good to go. Please keep us informed of the process. Ride safely

Yes. This is brand new. Just pick it up today.

The ride is awesome as for now.

But having a burn smell, is it normal to scooters?

Welcome, congratulations on the new Kymco, that's a nice color and great looking scoot. On break in I'm sure you will get a few different responses. While the break in procedure in most owners manuals is pretty much standard I personally have broken in my bikes the way I ride them if maybe anything slightly easier. It's worked for me. Now get out there and enjoy that new scoot. Oh where are you located?

Sounds normal for any new vehicle, usually due to coatings during manufacturing particularly on the engine and exhaust that get very hot.

Sorry hizamy I got you and roniji mixed up. Yes the smell is the exhaust system getting hot. That won't last long. The break in is mainly the piston rings seating themselves. It's important not to run at very high speeds for long times during this process. That doesn't take over 400 miles. All new engines are turned at the factories with break-in oil being pumped thru them so everything except the rings is broken  in when you first get it. The rings take a bit longer. cheers
