Brake Lever Free Play Adjustment on a People S 250?
« on: March 23, 2017, 04:00:02 PM »
2008 model has 3 disc brakes, bleed the brakes & still needs adjustment on the right/front brake lever to match free play on left/rear brake lever.
Front brake lever is very tight with no free play.
I have the repair manual but it does not address how to do this adjustment just gives the measurement for free play.

Is there a treaded adjuster screw where the lever presses on the master?

Mine on the 250 S model are both hydraulic, on one you have a further pull till brake engages, no adjustment on these that I am aware of.

If issue is too tight front brake lever...were new pads installed recently  in front?
Almost sounds like new pads have pushed back fluid too tight in front line/reservoir? Open reservoir or bleed at wheel to release over-pressure.
Do front brakes drag?
If issue is rear lever too loose....parts failing, or in need of lubing. Leaking?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Are the levers adjustable? If they are and all else is in order, maybe just a simple adjusting of them will make it feel better???? Whatda I know??

No threaded adjuster screws. Will just have to get used to uneven pull on the brake levers. Brakes work fine and are not worn. Replaced brake fluid/re-bleed brakes and they are still not an even pull.

I think the reason the levers are uneven is the front reservoir runs two disc brakes & the rear reservoir only runs one brake and the reservoirs are the same size so that may cause the back pressure to be different. Just my best guess after working on it. They should have an adjustment screw but that is a kymco for ya.

This was my guess also, rode another and it was the same way.
