Philips 9003 MotoVision in LIKE200iLX
« on: December 04, 2016, 08:57:52 PM »
Taken  yesterday morning on my LIKE200i.
Philips 9003 MotoVision bulb
Info from Amazon advert.:
"Get 40% more light on the road compared to a standard halogen headlight bulb
Choose Philips MotoVision for its unique orange reflection in the headlight that helps motorcyclists stand out in traffic "

High beam

It's not an LED or a CREE, but it is a halogen and it is some brighter than the stock bulb.

That looks pretty bright! Is it a big improvement over previous bulb? I actually have no idea what the headlights are like on either my scoot or motorcycle...never ridden in the dark and don't have any plans to!

Any pictures of the front showing the orange?

Yep, read this post for pix of the new orange-ish bulb.

The photos in my post here, are of the best possible conditions for this bulb:
1) just me on the road - no on-coming car lights or store or street lights
2) full dark with a light colored pavement
3) road not wet
Now, take a wet road, add oncoming car lights and storefront lighting,  a very dark asphalt pavement - and a curve in the road -....then it gets real, real exciting! Read: dangerous at times.

I will never ride above 35 mph, in the dark, on a road not well known to me on a LIKE200i. I ride almost every night on this scooter - but I know every man-hole cover, pot hole and bend in the road. After a rain or storm I slow down and watch for leaves & tree debris.

My Forza and Burgman have twin Halogen headlights which make it possible to ride safely at night.
(I will never understand the false economy of giving a bike twin headlights but only lighting one of them. Kudos for Honda and Suzuki for going the extra bit to wire both for lighting.)

Never tried a Phillips bulb just the Sylvania ones. The regular Silver Star bulbs were nice but they would burn out more frequently. The Silver Star Ultra ones seem to last better. Both are the same 9003/H4 as your Like on my Burman 650's. I also just bought some Ultra for the MyRoad but haven't put them in yet.
