2014 mxu 450i 4wd button issue
« on: January 18, 2017, 09:32:00 PM »
This is a new machine, bought as a leftover this summer.  The 4wd button is finicky, when I push it I can hear the actuator working, etc, not binding or anything out of the norm, but when I let up the button doesn't always stay pushed in, which then disengages it.  If I keep pushing it multiple times, eventually it will stay engaged.  At first I thought it wasn't getting into 4wd, so I would roll forward a bit, etc. but it seems like it is all working, just the button wont' stay engaged.

Any advice before I haul it 75 miles to the dealer?

I'll check my 2014 tomorrow. I have had no problem engaging 4whl drive. The dash has a display that shows when you are in 4whl drive. Are you sure it is disengaging?

I should have included that. The dash display cycles with the button. I think the button is this issue personally, but am not sure.

Sounds like you very well may have a button issue. Mine stays depressed until I push it again. Wonder if you could talk to the dealer and make sure they have a replacement switch first. So you go, they put new switch on, you leave. I know how you feel, I drove across state lines to buy mine. About a 140 mile drive. If was worth the price for me. My warranty is expired so anything comes up I'll just handle it myself.

I talked to the dealer, they agree it's the switch most likely.

As soon as I am done ice fishing it will go down to the dealer to get fixed up.
