Steering Bearing

PLEASE COULD YOU GUYS CHECK YOUR 500 AND FEEDBACK

Kymco Xciting 2007 with 13k miles.

Hi .. One issue that was highlighted to me, when I had my last rear tyre fitted..

The tyre fitter said that here is a slight resistance in the steering at the central position?

Now, when the bike is on the centre stand, you can certainly feel a very ..very.. slight indentation when the steering is straight.

It causes no issues when on the road and no issues in cornering at all.

No noises from the bearing, or indication that there is indeed a problem (to me anyway).

I reviewed this and showed my 85 yr. old vintage biker father .. who said he thought it was not an issue and that was there
just to indent the steering striaight when the bike is on the centre stand.

SO... PLEASE COULD YOU GUYS JUST DO A SIMILAR CHECK .. AND LETS SEE IF THIS IS COMMON AND THERFORE BY DESIGN.

Thanks in anticipation,

Cider Boy.

it is caused by riding in the same steering position all the time ,  you can fix it by rotating the lower race a little or new bearings,.  then use more grease then the factory did,.  mine was almost dry,.  300i downtown,  86,000 KM.

Yep, doubtful  it is by design....just a bit of wear by mileage.
If it is barely noticeable. ....would put it on future to do list and ride on.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
