mongoose 300 choke problem
« on: March 12, 2018, 05:39:04 AM »
Hi, I have a Mongoose 300 that I purchased recently.  I'm concerned with the choke operation.  The choke button seems to be spring loaded.  As soon as you let go of it, it spring returns itself to off.  That in itself isn't an issue except that the start button is on the same side, so you need to let go of the choke to start the engine. If you reach over with the other hand you can hold the choke on and start the engine but it's very awkward. I have a keihin carb which doesn't seem to show up in the online parts list and is not in the service manual I downloaded.  Is it normal for the choke to return itself to off? Thanks for any info you can give me.
