Kymco Like 4 stroke question regarding variator sliders
« on: February 08, 2016, 07:06:29 PM »
I own a new Kymco Like 4 stroke I am about to upgrade by variation rollers to teflon sliders at 6 grams rather than the stock 6.5 gram rollers. Has anyone experience with 6 gram sliders on their Kymco Like or the 4stroke 50 cc Kymco's?

I use 6gm rollers or sliders in my Sento.  They yield a few more rpms at WOT from a standing start.  I like them to keep up with traffic when the light turns green.

Hello,  I could really use some help with my sento 50. I bought it from a guy that could not get it running. It only has 400 miles on it. It will start and run for maybe 10sec. Then die and will not restart.  If I wait 20-30min it will start and do the same thing. Iv replace the carburetor, fuel pump, spark plug, adjusted valves and checked vacuum lines , I am at a lose

That new should not need anything replaced.
Sounds  like fuel delivery problems. Is the choke working...is it disconnected?
Needs extra fuel when starting from cold...but too much can make for hard starting too....floodded.
Can you copy proper jet settings from a good running scooter like yours?
Service manual or serviceman for jet settings? ...and check choke operation.

I put a new carburetor on it, and the type of carb I used, I have used on other gy6 scooters and never had any issues. Unless kymco are different?

Try loosening the fuel cap to allow air to get in and start it. The cap may not be venting well enough to allow fuel to flow to the carb.

You should be ok droping down to 5 or 5.5 gram rollers.
