New Kymco Xciting
« on: March 30, 2015, 06:26:18 PM »
Hi All,

Just posted this to record how pleased I am with my Kymco Xciting 500

The best bike this 60 yr. old biker from U.K has owned.

Bought last year with 5000 miles, now showing 8000

Oil and filter changed at 7000 miles easy task, no issues.

Brisk gapless spark plug fitted (AR12ZS), mainly because I wanted to fit and forget about gap checking.
Have to say, works just great. Starts first turn.

Malossi Variator fitted about 500 miles ago. Really pleased with the difference this has made.
Better control at low speed, excellent acceleration and at least 10 mph added to top speed.

Just fitted Michelin city-grips front and rear.

Added an extended USB cable which lives in the small glovebox, so I can use my iPhone as a Sat Nav.

Nothing more to say really...

Would be nice to hear from other owners in the U.K.

Please get in touch....  :D

Hi,
Trust your still enjoying your xciting 500, as it's a few months since you posted your report.

I'm off tomorrow to look at a non ABS model as a replacement for my Honda XL1000 which I'm finding a little to heavy to handle nowadays.

Anyway I'll let you know how I get on tommow and if I will be the owner of an xciting 500.

Ciderboy, what 500 do you have. Carb or efi? I ask because I am interested in the brisk gapless sparkplug, but so far only see for the carb version. I wondered which brisk Plug you got?

I asked brisk racing USA, and they said efi is AOR12LGS. So I ordered off ebay. Best price from Slovakia. I hope it arrives.

What advantages does this brisk plug have over a stock plug other than no re-gapping? Better MPG/ Power? :-*

According to the advertising,  better performance and better fuel economy, not lots, like up to 15%,worth the risk I think, with the bonus of never having to scrape your hands to pieces through that access hole changing the plug. 😊

Hi All,

Yes, the plug for my 500 EFI is indeed the AOR12LGS.

Updated 06.07.16 .. the plug is actually AR12ZS ... As I say no issues and no compliants.

The brisk spark plug arrived at last. One month from Hungary to South Africa, fairly good time actually.
The effect is immediate!
Better pull away, quick start. I like it.
Now to see if the fuel economy will improve, currently 19km/l.
