LED all out!
« on: November 28, 2014, 02:12:15 AM »
Finally got my GTI entirely LED! Swapped out the headlight months ago and now the rear license plate light bulb is now LED.  Sweet huh?

I really like the look of the whiter headlamp. I installed white led's in the European turn signal sockets, and would love the headlamp to match in whiteness. What brand and type of bulb did you use, and did it plug right in?

Hi guys, yes the LED in my opinion are better than the standard bulbs. Softer to the eye (oncoming traffic) and looks awesome. Matches the LED parking lights and gives the bike a whole new look. High beam is awesome too. Below is the amazon link where I purchased.

Direct replacement to the OEM bulb. Easy to install

Thank you for that info. I'll order my bulbs now and install them in April when I put the scoot on the road again.

Thank you for posting the link for these. I've been wanting to replace the H4 bulbs on my Super 8 150 with LEDs for a while. They look good and bright in the pic of your scoot. Do they give a good even light ahead of you at night? I've read mixed reviews of the other LED H4 bulbs I've looked into.

Was Never much of a fan of the Charging/lighter jack under the seat. So I decided to swap it out with a LED courtesy. What do you all think?

Yes DMblues,

They give awesome and even spread ahead of you. Very much like the OEM bulb. You wouldn't be disappointed. High beams are awesome on these H4 LED.

H4 is the bayonet  (housing type) I believe. I think it may stand for Headlight number 4. I stand corrected though. H4 bulbs can come in LED, Halogen, etc.......

HELP!  I also like the bright white look of the LEDS on the front of my GT. I put cool white LEDS in the European turn signal lenses to further enhance the look. I saw this post and ordered the new headlight. Now for the problem. I took off the windshield, mirrors, and all the attaching screws. I don't know how to  open up the plastic tabs that snap the cover on. I don't want to break off or crack the cover. What's the secret??

Mr Mike. I would love to help you out. Which plastic screws are you referring to? Can you show me a pic?
If it's the black bullet looking clips they are fairly east to remove. Just take a screwdriver and push top center and they will release.

As I said. I took the windshield and mirrors off. I also removed 4 screws and two bolts that hold the handlebar cover together. I thought I could pull the cover apart and replace the headlight. There are several tabs along the seam of the two handlebar cover halves (Item 93205 + 93206 in the diagram) that I believe are holding it together. How do you unsnap these, or is there another way to access the headlight??
