OEM Roller Size
« on: October 01, 2014, 02:57:49 AM »
I have been searching on this forum and elsewhere online and I can't find a definitive answer. Is the OEM roller size for a 2012 Like 50 2t 15x12 or 16x13? I've found both claimed and don't want to order a set of Dr. Pulley's that don't fit right. Thanks!

Thanks guys! Zombie, I know you've posted in several other places of a good setup for someone around the 200 lbs mark included the dr. pulley sliders and the red malossi spring. Is there a particular rpm rating or percentage over stock for that spring that I can transfer to other brand springs if I can't find the malossi?

I've never understood how the springs are rated or what exactly the numbers relate to. Most people agree that the 1500 or 2000 mean rpm over OEM opening but in reality it is torque that forces the pulley set open.

I have an old bathroom scale that I use to push the spring till the coils almost touch. That is how I know which is stiffer. I tried a Stage 6, three spring set, and they were all weaker than the Malossi. Same for the Polini Evo two spring set.

If Nakuru/MHR make one comp. to the Malossi I do not know.

You can get the Malossi anywhere. It's the same size spring that fits in almost every 50cc scooter built. 2t or 4t, it makes no difference.

I'd go thru Louie at SPI or racing Planet. They are the only two shops I deal with. (even tho I hate RP's inventory policies). Scooter west or Treatland are good choices too. Bengi from Treatland is one of the best people you will run across.

I found that the spring that comes with the molassi variator kit with 8 gram dr. Pulley sliders worked best for me. I live near the beach and I ride with my wife on the back, two beach chairs, and a large beach umbrella and with this setup my speed  about 35 to 38. when I upgraged my exaust and air box and 100 jet I can get 40 on a good day 43. Single rider 49mph I weigh 185-190. I changed my clutch and torque spring and sever other combinations, and the best set up was stock clutch with that molassi variator kit I think the spring is a 1000. I will recommend the tecnigas tre exaust awsome but very loud. I got off topic a little but I hope this helped

Hey B&L, I got suggested by you from 1 of the guys from the forum, they say your very very knowledgeable. I wanted to order this for my 2012 Kymco 50cc 2T Like, I want to go from max 25mph to 40 max,  can you suggest anything else, Kevlar belt? Exhaust? Please look at attached picture and let me know if this is correct. Thanks in advance.
