Have a look in eBay, there they have one that doesn't require that additional self-tapping screw.

I have just changed the oil and filter surprisingly oil drain bolt was with little magnet. Is that standard on Downtown or previous owner improvement? Also replaced rollers with Dr pulley sliders 13.5g and sanded off clutch shoes. I've only had a chance for a short test drive to warm up the oil before changing but I'm quite happy with acceleration now. It's like it pulls away in 1st gear instead of something like it felt 2nd before.

I have put lock on storage compartment. It was just couple quid from eBay. Why kymco saved on this is beyond my understanding.

That's great, do you have a link to the ebay page for that?

Was doing an engine and gear fluid (with oil filter) done last week. The 'low battery' hasbeen playing up. Workshop checked tje charging output, magneto was cutting in and out. No stock available so had to get rewound.

While having that done, to get to the magneto, coolant too had to be dropped, so new coolant went in, due time too as it's the factory fill that's been with me since 2013.

And had the front forks serviced with new synthetic fork oil. And while doing that found out my wheel bearings were on their way out. So went in new ones. Mind you, this new set would be set number 3.

Damn I hate maintenance.

i hope i am not necroposting, i really  like the idea of putting a real lock instead of a plastic  thingy.

So the "dremel" tool is to cut the metal border on the lock?

On topic I used my kymco to go to the gym and todo shopping, i hope to use it for a long trip one of these days( Cheshire-Snowdonia)
