Scrapped the side stand in a left corner, was expecting the huge chunk of center stand to touch down instead.

Did a much needed oil change today, followed by adding air to the tires and filling up tank. That new bike feeling afterwards -- priceless.
Creeping up on 10K miles, Should I be considering a new drive belt, just have it inspected?

I would buy a belt keep as a spare,  check the belt every oil change , until you see some wear,  width!! not under 23.1 MM.  manual says change every 20,000 Km. (12,000 miles ) the best of the season      de dee  you may get black Friday prices

Anyone noticed the bushing on the engine damper breaks down. Any ideas for a PU replacement instead of getting a brand new part with from Kymco which consists of the rubber bushing and arm.

Good advice, De Dee. I may not cross 12K until around Spring which would be in time for my annual tune-up.

+10 degrees and dry roads, so it would be rude not to head out for a short spin. 50 miles later and with a huge smile I'm  putting the DT away and looking forward to a  hot cuppa.

Hightlight of the day was tagging on to the back of 2 teenagers on 125cc Lexmoto Scooters for a while and then hosing them off when I got bored.

Eat my dust kids.

Noticed when I first got this DT300i that it would only turn over when I pulled the right, or Front brake lever in. Then I noticed that the stop light wasn't coming on when I pulled the left brake lever in. After talking to another Kymco DT300i rider, I started poking around the left handle bar and under the the master cylinder  I found two wires with plugs  on them lying there. Unplugged! Since I couldn't see anywhere to plug them in, thru the small opening, I removed the top part of the handle bar cover. I still couldn't find the place. I looked at my service manual and it was then I knew why I couldn't find them. The switch was missing. Found a couple of places on line that have them, for under $20. Guess I'll order one tomorrow. Having lots of fun here during the,too cold to ride days.

A heads-up on the brake'/stop switches on the Downtown. When trying to order a switch for the Rear Brake light, I found that there is a lot of confusion out there as to there being a difference between the switch that goes on the rear brake lever and the one for the front brake lever. Most parts diagrams only show one part number, meaning they think that that same switch fits both sides. NOT SO. and they aren't reversible. FYI The front brake lever side is part# 35340-KNBN-901 and the rear brake lever side is part# 35350-KNBN-901 (or some have the old part# 35350-KNBN-9000) Thought this might save some of you a lot of trouble if you ever need to order a stop light switch for you're DT 300i. I think is is possible that the same switches are use on other Kymco models, as well.

While waiting for my new switch to arrive, I installed a Red LED strip under my top box. It's wired to come on with the brake light and is very bright. I've been rear-ended once and would rather not
have a repeat .

Good tip on those brake light switches...thanks.
Re. your added LED strip to the rear...
Every time I  look at rhe rear of my LIKE200i with its massive tail light and that string of wraparound actuating LEDs on the Bestem top case....I  am mightily impressed with my rear lighting.
The big tail light was another selling point for me...and the lit case is an amazing bargain.

You know Stig, for my part, you can't get enough lights and stop warnings on the aft part of your bike.
On my Silverwing I had "Back-off" stop lights. They were small lights with 10 or 12 LED's each and mounted on either side of the license plate bracket. When the brake was applied they would flash three time and then go to steady- on. I really liked them. They were in nice brushed stainless housings that added to the bikes good looks. Got to be seen coming and going and then the first words out of the cage driver's mouth, who hits you, is: I just didn't see you.
