Thanks, MotoRandy.

So what does it mean if I don't currently have DTC 13 and 16, but it showed up in the trouble code history when I hooked up the handheld diagnostic unit?

I can understand DTC 13... heh. But 16? How does an engine temperature sensor go into fault, then start working properly again? Or is it just saying I've had the engine too hot at one time or another?

Not sure about that one. I had a Jeep that had intermittent codes never figured out why.
If their not current maybe it got a bit hot during break in? Though one would think a valid
reading is OK even if hot so might be a contact problem or software glitch?

Intermittent codes can show for dozens of reasons. Something as simple as cranking the battery too low after leaving the key on (while in the store or whatever) can throw the computer into an Alzheimer state.
The old codes you see are permanently stored in ROM. It is a history of sorts that can only be reset by replacing the chip. A non issue because the codes you see may have been phantoms to begin with.

Only if they show up on the helm are they a concern.
