Need to get these in circulation so they'll trickle down to the used bike market.  Nice looking bike. Wouldn't mind trying one out. Live on a half mile dirt/sand road to my cabin in the woods. This would be perfect for me but have to admit that I doubt it would make me part with my SW.

Dang it, Stig! Now you have me drooling on the keyboard again!

Seriously, though, I do wish Americans would figure out what Europeans have known for a long time - scooters are a great way to commute and so much more space and fuel efficient, especially in the cities. But alas.......

Perhaps this is born of necessity due to high fuel costs in Europe. If gas went to 5 bucks a gallon we'd see an increase in scooters too.

Geez 98.4 is outrageous....downright criminal Tom. How are we gonna keep the fossil fuel industry afloat with such shenanigans? Imagine if you will that ten of your scooters gets the same gas mileage as one Hummer. You ought to be ashamed of yourself putting these land yachts out of business.

Didn't turn out as bad as expected...yet. The lingering rains could be problematic for flooding. We're 300 miles north of there and outer bands of rain now here in East Texas. Gonna be a wet week ahead.

Good  attitude Tom. Some guys would be all flustered and intimidated about being looked down upon going down in size to a smaller moped. Guys on scooters gotta be comfortable in their own skin in this macho v twin manly world of ours. You're my hero dude.

We have a Morkie(Maltese/Yorkie mix) and had ours on our Goldwing with Deb too. We have a ventilated nylon pet carrier with mesh windows that we attached to the luggage rack on our rear cargo box. Don't have a pic of that (many moons ago) but thinking of doing same thing on my Kymco and Silverwing. So I'll add a luggage rack to both top boxes and attach our motorcycle specific pet carrier.

I live in total darkness everyday working on people's foundations. Maybe I'll come out of the hole tomorrow and see another kind of darkness. Think I'll need me headlamp?

Don't know how you get along without a top box Tom? I've had one on everyone of my scooters (7) in the last 10 years and can't live without one. I'm just like an old lady with a big ole purse that has to have my day pack with cell phone, tablet computer, day timer, pens, power cords, water bottle, rain gear, micro fiber cleaning towels with pledge spray for viser and windshield, tire patch kit, tire pump, tool kit, extra t-shirt (hot as hell in Texas), deodorant and .....and then I need room to haul stuff from Lowe's or the grocery store. So how to you do it Tom with that mini vault under your seat?

I had the oil changed last Thursday at 360 Km.  before my trip to Manchester NH.

Ah, me old stomping grounds. Graduated from Nashua High in 68. Remember walking from Manchester to Nashua once (can't recall why) but took us all night. Beautiful part of God's green earth. Now live in Texas but in the pretty part with hills-n-lakes-n-pine trees.

Nice looking pair of scoots Tom. BTW, liked what the buyer of your Burgman said about you. I'll buy anything you're selling.

Good on you Dan,
As you know, too often getting off the brakes of a rear tire sliding sideways will launch you over the bars into a lovely high-side off. You avoided that.
Those are the shoulder and collar bone breakers for GP riders. Ugly things to see. Most every time it is the back tire snapping back that does it.
Stig

I got lucky on that one Tom. If it hadn't been for the pu sitting at this rural stop sign I would have just kept going through it but wasn't sure what he was going to do? Didn't matter anyway because I couldn't get it stopped in time and rolled right thru it. Good thing he was watching out for me or I might have t-boned a Ford truck. Guys on the sport bike forum I was a member of told me to forget I had a back brake and use the front mainly as it provides the greatest stopping power. Now you know why your Liberty only has ABS up front. They said use the back only for trail braking going into a turn. Sure am glad I got rid of perhaps the most fun bike I've ever owned. Like I said, I've not had to use ABS yet on my SW. Scooters keep me out of trouble.

The term scooter has so many meanings as big burly men refer to their hogs as scooters too. The line is blurred with Maxi Scooters that can can easily outrun their V Twin cousins and reach speeds at 120mph. Traditionally scooters were under powered mopeds and some had to be pedaled to get them started. Maxi scooters were anything over 250cc coined by the Helix. Seems like labels divide as we slice and dice this model, this size or this much power and say ours is better. They're all good, from the 900 pound Goldwings to the 50cc Metropolitan as they put a smile on everyone's face. Like the bearded tattooed rider, they're all scooters in my book.
