Ok problem solved ! I took the head off today and the piston is damaged! So low compression! So off I go to order a new piston! I will also order a new head as there is some minor scoring to the head. Any idea what would cause this to happen? Did I possibly position the rings incorrectly???
Also when I took the head off, I noticed a lot of liquid in the crank shaft area! It does look like oil but more thin than I thought it should look like! Now I did have the crankshaft casing apart a month or so ago as I thought I damaged the crankshaft, and there wasn’t that much liquid if any when I took the crankshaft casing apart! So is it normal to have liquid sitting at the bottom or not? If not then perhaps I never sealed it properly, although it hadn’t rained after I put it back together!
Also I have looked at a replacement cost of a 50cc cylinder and for a small extra amount I can get a 70cc kit! Would anyone offer advise on this? I can get it with or without a new carb, so I assume if I just got the cylinder I would need to change the carb as well? If I got the one with the carb I assume the jets have been upgraded which I assume I could then put an aftermarket air cone on it? But I still do have the after market exhaust so could that cause a problem! When the bike was working I could get just under 45mph out of it!
Also what’s the difference with a tuning kit and a racing kit?

Sorry! I guess I wasn't clear when I mentioned the oil-change light.  Kymco uses the lights to tell you important things that need doing. Have you checked the Owner's manual or the Factory Service Manual?  There's still more that the dealers know.  The point being that these lights are sometimes sending service messages and they have a toggle to turn them off.  Cars like my Chevy 4x4  do the same thing.

Thanks for your reply, I can’t see anything about it having a service light! It’s a 2006 model! But if it does have a service light that doesn’t explain why the light flicks erratically when I move the wires 

I have had a look at the battery terminals today and the wires connection to the connectors! And they look pretty old! Could this be causing an issue? Was wondering if I put cut the wires back and use some new connectors if that could help?

Calm down! Take a deep breath before dismantling the entire machine.  Many Kymcos use the oil light as a simple reminder to change the oil.  Depending on the model, it goes on every 2,000km (typical) and stays on until you you turn it off with the hidden toggle when you've done the oil change.  NOTE! This isn't in the Owners Manual, it's a hidden item that the dealer can charge you for when he changes your oil.  The toggle is in a different place from one Kymco model to the next.

Drained the oil! And the float seems to move freely! I plugged it in whilst the float was out of the tank and the light stayed on! I used the volt metre and two out of the three was showing power when they was plugged in, and only one showing power from the main loom when it wasn’t plugged in! I did notice that the black connector was about dodgy, and I think I have a dodgy wire somewhere as when I moved the wires it would flicker! So for now I have just unplugged it as got more problems! Thanks for the reply, I do have a multimeter! The sensor has three or two wires going to it (not with the bike at the moment) but must be getting power as the light goes off when I disconnect the connector to the sensor. But will check the to see what comes up with the meter, I will take the tank off as well and remove the sensor to see if it’s stuck!

Can anyone please advise me why the oil light is on when the engine is running? There is Max oil in the tank and oil is coming out of the pipe at the engine end! I have disconnect the connector for the sender unit on the oil tank, and the light is off! What is for the light for? I assumed it was for low oil!
