Well done. :D  I know how important it is to be able to ride.  When I was without a scooter whilst mine was in the shop I was down in the dumps.

I am guessing it is one of the sensors or throttle body.  You will probably need to take it to a dealer so they can test it will the correct equipment.

Yes, it really does  ;D.   Would be good if you could post a few more close ups of your Spade, looks great.  Unfortunately we don't get them in Australia.

I see you had the same "greasers" as the US at about the same time!
US lifestyles always had a big influence here.

This motorcycle educational film is from 1959 and I found it fascinating to watch.  The way they dressed, the helmets and the voice over shows how much we have changed in 60 years.

Thanks Stig and Crossbolt.  It is a red one Stig although I was after a white one.  I going to use it for a couple hours per week delivering for Uber Eats. That will earn enough to pay for the insurance and road registration cost.

General Discussion / My Piaggio is off the road.
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:16:31 PM »
My almost new expensive Piaggio Medly that I bought because I wanted a very modern reliable scooter has been off the road for 3 weeks now back at the dealership's mechanic shop and I might still not get her back for a couple of weeks yet.  It started to idle rough when started cold and would stall until it was fully warm so I booked it in thinking maybe it was a quick fix but after a couple of weeks of testing the electronics and those results were sent to Piaggio Australia and then were resent to the head company they stated that the fuel body assemble had to be replaced and a new one sent from overseas and that would take 2 - 3 weeks.  Luckily they had one or else I was told it could be 8 weeks if it was not available.  Very disappointed on how long it takes to get something that is my daily ride back on the road.  The dealership lent me a old worn out Honda Lead but after a couple of weeks I decided I needed something better and purchased a second hand Honda CB125E.  One reason I got it is that it is so basic that I can do all the servicing myself and the other main reason is that after riding the Medley which has a 16" front wheel and a 14" rear is that I wanted something with large rims.

It is fun to ride and very light and agile but I did notice that because at times I was thinking about correct gear changes my attention wasn't fully focused on the road and the surroundings as it was when I rode my scooter.

Do you have these in the States?

Glad you are ok and hopefully your scoot will be fixed or replaced soon.  It's a crazy world out there at times and I am still constantly amazed (and disgusted) by some of the driving I see everyday.

Maybe this site's security needs to be reviewed after this.  That was disgusting how they managed nine pages of postings.
As I have stated before Stig on another forum I am on there is a report button and as soon as you report a spammer it locks their account until a moderator can review it and it stops a lot of spammers because of that.  Surely the admin can apply that to this forum.

I have a one year old Coleman BBQ and I'm pretty sure it was made in China.  I suspect the company has been bought out and now has an overseas owner.  Just like Lambretta...

Yes, unfortunately a few good companies are like that now.

Wasn't Coleman famous many years ago for making quality camping gear?  Seems like they have gone down the road of cheap Chinese goods.

hahahah
I know mine does.  I remember riding up this steep hill to the service station thinking my scooter was slow but after putting high octane fuel in it absolutely flew down the hill.  Amazing.  ;)

What's the service interval like.  If I remember it is still very short.  People who don't service them themselves and need to take them into a dealer usually want longer service periods.  Don't know why Kymco do this, even the new 150i has short service intervals for a new hi-tech engine.
