Bet & Win 250 / Re: My new to me 05 BW 250
« on: July 26, 2017, 06:30:47 AM »
Sorry, I'm a bit late seeing this but I'm presently on vacation and don't have access to my invoice. I do recall they replaced the air box assembly between the air filter and carb. If you still need further info, I'll be back home in a few weeks.

If you have time to upload or post any info for this matter. I'm still interested. Thanks.

Bet & Win 250 / Bad cdi symptoms
« on: May 09, 2016, 10:34:38 AM »
Hello everyone. Has anybody experience a failing or bad cdi? What are the symptoms? My b&w250 idles fine. But on sudden acceleration it lacks the kick of a 250cc its like accelerating on high gear, full throttle is like the same as half throttle no passing of power, ignition timing is off the mark using timing light. Any thoughts or comments.

This happened to me before with my b&w250. Try checking your ignition coil it might be failing, giving weak spark it can contribute to power loss.

Bet & Win 250 / Re: Ignition coil polarity

Thanks for the info.

I just want to add. After replacing the ignition coil, my scooter now has top end power. Before it feels like as if its fuel starve, rough idle, engine will misfire at idle and most of all no full throttle power.

Did i install it correctly or reversed the polarity? Does this have any effect on wide open throttle? Either way the engine runs fine.

Bet & Win 250 / Main jet size?
« on: December 27, 2014, 05:14:55 AM »
hello! Recently my stock airbox broke and is beyond repair so i decided to replace it with a cone type filter. My question is what could be the perfect main jet size? I tried 120 main still leans out on full throttle.

Has anyone experienced the same? Jets are quite expensive.

Bet & Win 250 / Re: Lag in throttle response
« on: September 14, 2014, 12:52:26 PM »
Problem solved! At last throttle lag is now a thing of the past, after relentlessly cleaning the carburetor in my desperation i accidentally turn the carb upside down and saw the needle slide inside the vacuum piston (the needle is supposed to be fixed in there). Put a clip on the needle and some shim to let it sit a bit higher on the main jet.

Also off idle hesitation is gone after re jetting the stock pilot #38 to #45 and main jet #102 to #105

I notice the engine runs smoother with impressive acceleration.

Thanks for all your inputs!

Before it was hesitation so i thought it was just a dirty carb after cleaning and read mrbios thread, bogging of engine is gone but this i notice some delay in engine response even while on center stand. I checked the accelerator pump and it is working fine.

Grandvista 250 / Oil Change
« on: June 15, 2014, 09:37:18 AM »
Engine oil drain plug 17mm. Best to use a socket and also remove the plastic engine cover to avoid cross threading the plug.

But if you mean gear oil plug its 12mm.

Im having a throttle lag problem on my b&w250.  Has anyone experience this? When you give a twist to the throttle its like a second delay for the engine to respond.  Any help is appreciated.

Okay ill go straight to the problem. When i twist the throttle it seems that theres a 1 second delay before the engine picks up, cleaned the carb and adjusted the valve clearance the ignition timing is on stock specs and no engine mods. No electrical issue the scooter idles fine. Any help or idea is highly appreciated.
