Downtown 300 / Re: Cold mornings.

That is a good description of exactly how this model (and its relatives) and the Yager works. The Like 200i as well. Hot, cold and in between.

My Piaggio B V 350  came with a Cal. grade EVAP system. and something pluged and it cruched the gas tank down to a 8 Lt. from a 12.5 Lt. tank it is a plastic tank,.

I use to hear about that back in the 1940 s., when motors had low compresion now my piaggio B V 350 has 12 to 1 and that was high speed racing just a few years ago,. engines are a lot tighter today , I wonder how high it will be in another 50 years  or will it be electric motors with batterys that will last hundreds of miles, they will get better compression on the Wankel we may have a wankel in our scooters WOW 30,000 RPM motors

still working on my vibration problem with my scoot. After having cleaned and replaced a lot of things...I think I may have isolated the vibration issue to something inside the cvt... the belt,  clutch or even variator..

The question is can I run the scoot without variator and clutch? I know you can't run a lawn mower without the blade, as it acts as a heavy flywheel...but can you run a scoot this way?

Wondering if I can confirm or eliminate these components (along with belt) are causing the vibration. When running it with cvt cover off I see a lot of bouncing and slapping around of the belt and it shows evidence of hitting the cover on the outside of the belt (there are wear marks on the belt). It has been on for around 200 miles.

On a positive note I was able to strip my scoot of seat, rack, fender and tupperware (2nd pic) in 6 minutes flat...a new record for me.
I have run my 300 D T with Variator off, just not for long times,.  if the belt is slapping a lot the belt is to long I think, I have measerd belts and found some were 6 MM longer than standard belt,.  and to narrow,.

On my 300 the spot of lite is in the wrong place for the shape of the reflector, and you would have to leave the rubber cap off./,you have to find a LED with the LED in the same spot as the incandecant lite, filiment

General Discussion / Re: Maybe quiting
« on: April 11, 2021, 03:15:38 AM »
I will be 82 in May---66 years of riding, over 1.5 million miles, 15-20 countries, all weathers, over 75 new bikes/scooters....maybe time to quit while I am ahead---my 2019 XTown 300i i for sale.   Takes a lot for old farts to ride scooter safely....with no tank to grip, pegs to stand on and....never ride anything you cannot pick up alone.

If there is another bike, it will be a motorcycle---250-400cc US market, centerstand, interchangeable wheels, full chaincase, strong luggage rack/racks, perfect windshield, valve adjustment without shims!---Nationwide dealer ships, big gas tank, reg key!   Probably will not happen or be available-----Only ride I would like to repeat is Hyder AK thru Canada, Rockies pretty in summer, 2014 I rode to 49 states in one season (TU250 and Burgman 400) so no need there.  Miss Europe riding, lived/rode there over 20 years, same about

Japan....like the food...wide variety of bikes on the market there.----I bought new car a couple of months ago, like Heater/AC/radio,,, not having to dress up,ear plugs=nice.

So many India run cheaper motels now---usually not so clean and mold! so not so fun.

Stay tuned.

turned 88 in march, I hope to buy a new Piaggio B V 350 on my 90 th birthday, wood feel bad if I would give up riding at this time,.
