Please, can anyone tell me what to do? A sports air filter would do any good for a 4 stroke engine?

And, if yes, what roller should I put into the variator to decrease the revving and maybe increase the top speed a bit?

Help please, I do not know what to do.

I used to upgrade my scooter and had the following improvements:
- Unrestricted CDI, unrestricted variator boss;
- 72 cc Naraku Kit: https://www.racing-planet.de/cylinder-kit-naraku-v2-72cc-for-gy6-kymco-50cc-2v-p-101917-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792;
- Malossi Multivar 2000 Variator with 6g rollers;
- Secondary transmission gear up kit 17/49: https://www.racing-planet.de/secondary-transmission-gear-up-kit-top-racing-18-17-49-for-china-kymco-4-stroke-p-260390-1.html?backcPathco=5&cPath=26_11792;
- Main Jet 82.

The scooter was fine, being able to reach up to 75kmh.
However, it pulled up really slow and didn't do much good inside the city.
And, due to the high compression, the kick-start wouldn't work.

So, I installed an 80cc kit from Airsal: https://www.racing-planet.de/cylinder-kit-airsal-sport-813cc-50mm-for-139qmb-gy6-50cc-kymco-50-4-stroke-p-270391-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792.

After this upgrade, the scooter was pulling even slower and the top speed dropped to 65kmh.
Why is that?

I understand this kit has a lower compression.
It is true that now I can kick start the scooter.

After the 80cc kit, I installed a 19 carburetor with 33 pilot jet and 85 main jet: https://www.racing-planet.de/carburetor-replacement-for-4-stroke-139qmb-qma-p-98831-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792.

It was a bit better.

Then, I just went back to the stock secondary gear kit.

Now:
- the scooter pulls a bit better;
- maximum speed is 65 kmh and it revs very high, the scooter actually trembles at maximum speed;
- consumption is 3.8 litres per 100 km (that's 61 mpg).

I wanted to install a sports air filter: https://www.racing-planet.de/air-filter-air-system-metal-gauze-filter-38mm-straight-version-blue-shield-p-98596-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792.

But my mechanic said it won't do any good for a 4 stroke scooter.

Please help, what should I do. I am desperate.
Thanks,
Cristian.

Can anyone help me with an opinion? Am I doing something wrong that the scooter pulls so slowly and top speed decreased with the 80cc? Should I install the sports air filter, or doesn't make a difference with a 4 stroke scooter?

Agility 50 / Main Jet - Kymco Like 50 4T
« on: July 07, 2018, 06:20:41 PM »
Hi everybody,

I have a Kymco Like 50 4T, basically the same engine as the Agility.
Well, I have installed an Airsal 80 CC kit, a Malossi Multivar 2000 variator and a 17/49 secondary transmission gear up kit from Jasil (Top Racing).

What would be the best main jet size?

I live in a city about 60-90 meters above sea level (196 - 295 feet), temperatures are moderate.

The idea is that the scooter moves really slow from stand still and top speed is low. If I pull the throttle suddenly, it just chokes and doesn't accelerate.

Thank you,

Cristian.

I had the same problem. Just spray some WD40 over your disk and around it. Everything will be fine, this way, you are removing the rust and greasing the pieces. The squeek will dissapear.

Agility 50 / Kick-Start Problem
« on: May 09, 2018, 08:38:44 AM »
Dear All,

I am the very happy owner of a Kymco Like 50 4T. Basically, it is the same engine as the Agility. There is no dedicated forum thread for my scooter, so I am posting here.

I have made several mods:
- Racing CDI and variator bushing removed (complete derestriction);
- Naraku 70cc kit;
- Optimized Main Jet;
- Malossi Multivar 2000 Variator (6g rollers, white spring);
- Secondary Transmission Kit (Top Racing );
- Oval and bigger mirrors;
- Wind-shield;
- I have tried to install racing smaller springs for my clutch, but the engine was over revving and in the end I wend back to the factory springs.

Well, before installing the 70cc kit, the mechanic warned my that the kick-start would be much stiffer.
On cold mornings (I was riding the scooter all winter long as there was no snow in Romania), I would try to kick start the engine.
It was extremely stiff. And in the end, it just broke.
The mechanic told me that I need to buy a new kick-start set. Half-moon and the other piece which I do not know how to translate in English.

I am attaching a photo.

Could anyone advise me where to buy from? And what to buy?
In Romania I can barely find cheap, chinese parts.

Thank you and best regards,
Cristian.

Hello,

I just wanted to revert with the outcome of the improvements. In the end, I installed a Naraku unrestricted CDI and a Naraku 70 cc kit. The start from a stand still position is very good, basically I am faster than any car.

Very good acceleration up to 35-40 kmh.

Top speed 60-70 kmh. However, I do not really ride at 70 kmh, 60 kmh is enough for within city limits as I manage to move around at the same speed as the other cars.

Consumption hasn't increased, or at least I haven't noticed.

Best thing is that now I can ride safely on the second (or third lane) without having to worry about passing cars.

Joseph, how many hours shouldI expect to be charged for installing a new CDI, performance variator and 72cc kit? I have receive an offer from a local shop totaling 5 hours. That would probably cost as much as the parts.

Out of curiosity, what's the maximum speed you are getting with your unrestricted CDI and 72cc kit? Is it a Naraku kit?

Hi Joseph,

In fact, I want to get maximum 70 kmh out of my scooter and just a little bit of more power when accelerating from a stand still position. In my country (Romania) you do not have many places where to buy scooter parts and there not a lot of engineers or specialists to advise you on what to buy, what to install.

I was wondering whether somebody has had any experience with Naraku parts.

Best regards,
Cristian.

Hello everyone,

I am riding a Kymco Like 50 4T. It is basically the same engine as the Agility 50, however there is no dedicated forum on my scooter.
Has anyone considered the upgrade to 70cc?

I am considering 2 upgrades and I do not know what to choose:
1) First option is to go with the following products:
- unrestricted CDI: https://www.racing-planet.de/cdi-power-kit-unrestricted-for-kymco-like-agility-city-rs-50cc-4-stroke-p-236447-1.html?backcPathco=14&cPath=26_11792

- variator: https://www.racing-planet.de/variator-malossi-multivar-for-kymco-50cc-4-stroke-p-100059-1.html

- 70 cc kit: https://www.racing-planet.de/cylinder-kit-naraku-v2-72cc-for-gy6-kymco-50cc-2v-p-101917-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792

2) Second option is to for a full Naraku package:
- unrestricted CDI: https://www.racing-planet.de/cdi-unit-naraku-unrestricted-for-kymco-like-agility-super-8-4-stroke-p-243918-1.html?backcPathco=14&cPath=26_11792

- variator: https://www.racing-planet.de/variator-naraku-55g-for-kymco-4t-sym-139qmb-qma-p-101547-1.html

- 70 cc kit: https://www.racing-planet.de/cylinder-kit-naraku-v2-72cc-for-gy6-kymco-50cc-2v-p-101917-1.html?backcPathco=16&cPath=26_11792

What would you recommend?
Unfortunately, by the time I decide what to buy, the products are no longer available on the Racing Planet European website :-(

Regards,
Cristian.

I'm a proud Romanian.
Yes, racing planet has a German version where I ordered some parts from. It's good because it tells what's compatible with your scooter. Good motorcycle and scooter mechanics are very rare here :-)
