Side By Side / Re: UXV 700 heavy duty springs
« on: July 27, 2022, 08:04:14 PM »
Has anyone replaced the rear springs with something stronger to support heavier loads in the back?

I want to carry a spray unit (say 300kg when full of water), and in my experience, the steering suffers badly when there is a heavy load in the back.  I'm aware of the recommended weight limit, hence this question.

Logged in here looking to see if anyone has had any luck finding heavy springs or taller rear springs. I have a back seat in mine that gets used often and the springs have sagged badly.
Did you ever find anything? I may try added spring spacers for even more pre load.

Great to hear Airshot I don't have as many miles as you but my 700 has been everything I'd hoped for

Randy I've played around with this a little trying to make a gravel drag out of old railroad ties but it has not worked. I like the v-nose you started with here.

I don't know how long you've had this, but early on mine did something similar I found that the fuel line under the passenger seat was running over the seat bracket instead of under it, pinching it off once in a while

Side By Side / Re: Battery in UXV500i

Well, the proper battery location is pretty limited in what will fit but next to it is a huge storage box that the mower battery fits in with room to spare. Used a back and red starting leads to extend into the battery box location. Considering how expensive the correct battery is this crude mower battery is a steal at 40 bucks.

Good Idea Karl I still have never used that under hood storage anyway

I'm one of the few 700 guys and I love it. We all use the machines differently and the 450 wouldn't have worked for me the ground clearance is to low In the 700 with 26" tires I still drag and bottom out. and I wanted the back seat option which has been really handy a few times I end up with three adults more than I thought I would.

Side By Side / Re: 700i power steering

Bought my 700 last year and I will add power steering at some point for sure before I put bigger tires on it. It really isn't bad but all day on the rocks it wears this old man out.
