Title: De-Restricting my 2009 People 50 - Exhaust Question
Post by: spddm0n on October 21, 2017, 01:16:09 AM
Hey all -

I read a couple threads about doing this, and it was suggested that the exhaust pipe on a 2002 People 50 would be less restrictive.  Is it correct it may not have a catalytic converter in it?  I found another scooter I can buy for parts, and it's a 2003.  I wonder if that would also work to put on my 2009 for a less restrictive exhaust.  Anyone know if the 2003 exhaust pipe is less restrictive than the 2009?

Thanks!

You would get a lot more power of you bought an aftermarket exhaust with an expansion chamber. Something like a Silent Sport would make the scooter a lot more powerful for not a lot of money

I had 2005 People 50 2T and the OEM exhaust was not as restrictive as later models.  I assume 2002/ 2003 would be similar to my experience with 2005.  I think the 2002/ 2005 OEM exhaust will be similar to aftermarket stock exhaust like Silent Sport.

My 2005 exhaust worked very well, but like mclark999 said, an expansion chamber exhaust will give the most power.

I still have my 2005 OEM exhaust, send me a PM if you would like to buy it.  Cheers
